Dr Wayne Cottrell MBChB
I qualified as a doctor from the University of the Orange Free State, South Africa, In 1994. In 2000 I started practising as an NHS GP in London. Shortly after completing my training in Guys and St Thomases Hospital’s, I started working in private practice.
Covering 18 years experience of family practice and sexual health screening. I offer a completely confidential, professional, non judgemental service from start to end. A true believer in preventative medicine and in involving my patients in the decision making process. My practice is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC Provider ID 1-2149948301)
I am fully registered with the GMC and HPCSA, and have a licence to practice as a GP both in the UK and in South Africa. I am on the UK GP Register and NHS England – London (North West) PCT Performers list. I am also a member of the Independent Doctors Federation ( IDF) and the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) and I was last revalidated in January 2016.
When it comes to your health, it is worth paying a bit more to see someone who has the experience. Get the right advice regarding testing and treatment from the start.
You wouldn’t take your Mercedes to a VW dealer, so why see a regular GP when you have a sexual health issue?. I will address your concerns in a completely confidential environment. If needed, I can perform any testing in as little as 15-30 minutes. We usually have most results back the same or next day.
We discuss and agree all costs beforehand so you know exactly where you stand and we will always provide you with clear and accurate advice based on current British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) guidelines.
There is no need to wait for days or weeks to see your NHS GP, or lose half a day of work in order to attend an NHS walk in clinic. You can have a same day appointment, be screened and have results by the end of the day.
Having worked in private and NHS practice for many years, I understand that patients prefer to establish a relationship with a doctor. We take your concerns seriously, giving you the time to discuss them with someone who will help in a non judgemental way.
We have a team of two doctors and a nurse and you can choose to see the same one every time you visit. I ensure that all the doctors who work with me have the same high standards and practice with the same ethos that I do.
If you are worried about a risky sexual contact and not sure if you have been exposed, we can advise as to what tests to do. It is essential that you see someone with experience in the diagnosis and management of STI’s.

I believe that it is possible to create a personalised healthy diet for your own individual needs and health goals. By improving our diets and lifestyle we can support our bodies to heal and feel better. I can work with you to aim to improve sleep, stress levels, skin, body composition and weight, mood and more. I really love showing people how simple changes can make a big difference to how we look and feel.
I am also a big believer in personalised medicine. We all have unique medical histories and demands on our bodies. By listening carefully to my patients, asking a lot of questions and offering them longer appointment times when needed I can offer very individual lifestyle suggestions.’
