Lifestyle and nutrition advice

Lifestyle and nutrition advice

People and their health histories are always completely unique and very complex. It is rare that patients get the opportunity to talk through all aspects of their health and share all their concerns. In my nutrition and lifestyle consultations, I want to offer patients the opportunity to talk at length about all aspects of their health, both past and present, mental and physical, as well as their lifestyle. In this way, I want to build a full picture of the person. This approach enables me to identify any underlying issues that may be connecting various health problems. It also allows me to make personalised lifestyle and nutritional recommendations to improve people’s health in a natural and holistic way.

Differing lifestyles, differing advice

Individuals with differing lifestyles, diets, stress levels, activity levels, symptoms and health histories will all require different lifestyle and nutrition advice. I do not believe that there is a ‘one size fits all’ approach. What we eat and how we treat our bodies every day is fundamental to our health and longevity. By making small changes to our diet and lifestyle, we can have a large impact on our health. I want to offer people easy and delicious ways to improve their health.

Lifestyle changes can help to support healing of many different conditions and in particular can help with weight loss, sleep issues, skin issues, preparing the body for pregnancy and with many chronic diseases including diabetes. We need to provide our bodies with adequate nutrients to function optimally. We also need to ensure that the body can absorb these nutrients in order to use them.

Lifestyle and nutrition consultations

My nutrition and lifestyle consultations are split into two appointments. Initially, I meet with patients for one hour where we discuss their health, symptoms, diet and lifestyle. This initial consultation also includes some blood tests, which helps us to identify any specific health concerns or nutritional needs. I always consult without any judgement and I want to provide a space where people can express concerns, share details or ask questions.

Lifestyle and nutrition recommendations

A personalised plan is then created, which includes both dietary and lifestyle recommendations. I aim to make this easy to follow, enjoyable, specific and most importantly achievable in the context of your lifestyle. Recommendations are tailored according to your specific goals, budget, time and appetite for change. I want to educate people about healthy living. I aim to recommend delicious and healthy foods in everyone’s plan and to always tailor these to individual likes and dislikes.

The second appointment will last for 30-45 minutes, where we will discuss your blood test results, my thoughts about your lifestyle and nutritional needs and your plan. I can help you to find easy ways that you can incorporate your plan into your lifestyle and we can modify elements together.

I look forward to helping as many people as possible to achieve better health and I hope to welcome you to a consultation soon.
