  • It is therefore very important that women check their breasts regularly for any lumps or changes
  • Examine your breasts once a month, in the middle of your menstrual cycle, as breasts can become naturally lumpier towards your period
  • Feel the tissue of the breast and make sure to feel all the way up to your armpit

  • A new lump in the breast or armpits
  • a change in the size or shape of your breasts
  • a discharge of fluid from your nipples
  • dimpling on the skin of your breast
  • a change in the appearance of your nipple, such as becoming sunken into your breast

  • This is when a woman stops having periods and can no longer get pregnant
  • Caused by drop in oestrogen
  • Can happen quickly of more gradually over a few years, preceded by irregular and reducing frequency of periods
  • Normal part of aging and usually happens between 45-55 years

  • Hot flushes
  • Night sweats
  • Insomnia
  • Vaginal dryness
