My STI clinic at Canary Wharf offers an extensive range of sexual health services in a modern setting. You’ll find we’re all non-judgemental and sympathetic. As well as offering advice on the prevention of STIs we offer state of t

he art sexual health screening for all individuals whether they are gay or straight, within BASHH guidelines.

I understand you may be embarrassed about coming forward for sexual health screening. What tends to happen is some people book an appointment when early symptoms develop. Others simply wish to get tested after unprotected sex or would like a sexual health MOT. If you suspect you may have an infection or have been exposed to one, early testing is important. I can’t stress the importance of that enough.

At my clinic in Canary Wharf we can offer male and female specific screens. We have onsite HIV testing and early detection HIV capability. We can also test for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, mycoplasma, and herpes.

It’s an unwelcome fact of life STIs are becoming more common. But this doesn’t mean we should be complacent about our own health. Some STIs are fully treatable – others can only be managed. But, and here is the really key point, careful management can support a normal sex life.

For example, Gonorrhoea is becoming more common whether you are straight or gay and we are able to offer onsite testing and the latest recommended treatment. Herpes on the other hand remains non-curable but modern anti-viral treatments can keep the virus under control.

Like Gonorrhoea, the incidence of HIV is increasing in all communities. Initial symptoms can be varied and we offer 3 different tests. What test is applicable will depend on the length of time since you have been exposed. HIV of course requires specialist treatment but treatments are available to keep you healthy.

We can also test and treat Chlamydia – often called the ‘silent disease’. It’s estimated that 1 in 8 men and 1 in 10 women are inflected. Most patients have no symptoms. It can cause issues for pregnant women but is easily treatable.

I offer patients the chance to see the same doctor at each appointment. Straight or gay, my patients have the opportunity to discuss their concerns with me without feeling time pressured. I promise I’ll listen and not be judgemental. The service is discreet, fast and professional and avoids the need to wait for appointments. The clinic is conveniently located at Canary Wharf, accessible by DLR, tube, bus and taxi and so within reach of most Londoners, particularly those in the City and central London.
