Dr Maria Martinez Herves is a consultant psychiatrist in London whose training and career have centred on the mental health of children, adolescents and young adults. Her areas of expertise include ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, emotional dysregulation, depression, anxiety and psychosis, with a particular focus on acute mental health in teenagers.
We are delighted to welcome Dr Martinez Herves to the team. At Dr Wayne Cottrell & Co she sees patients aged 11 to 30 for general psychiatry, ADHD assessments and autism assessments. All of her appointments are by video consultation, on Wednesdays, and are available to book from 28 October 2026.
Dr Maria Martinez Herves qualified in medicine and surgery at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain in 2007, and completed her specialist training in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry at the University Hospital of Ferrol in 2012 — the same year she gained full registration with the UK’s General Medical Council. Following her specialist training, she was one of only five psychiatrists in Spain selected by the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation for a two-year advanced placement in child and adolescent psychiatry at Imperial College London.
