UREAPLASMA UREALYTICUM

  • Found in the genital tracts of otherwise healthy people
  • It’s part of a person’s “normal” bacteria, until something disrupts the balance and causes it to multiply and cause problems
  • Can be transmitted through penetrative sexual intercourse
  • It can also be passed from mother to baby during birth

UREAPLASMA UREALYTICUM SYMPTOMS

  • Frequently asymptomatic
  • Painful, burning urination (dysuria)
  • Penile, vaginal Discharge
  • Fertility issues
  • Pregnancy complications
  • Prostatitis symptoms

UREAPLASMA UREALYTICUM TESTING AND TREATMENT 

  • Urine, sperm or vaginal swabs PCR
  • Treated with oral antibiotics, dispensed onsite
  • We advise contact tracing, testing and treatment
  • Abstaining for at least 2 weeks post-treatment
  • We recommend a test of cure, 3 weeks post-treatment
