Researchers in Denmark believe that they have made substantial progress towards a cure for HIV.

They are currently moving into performing human trials to test a cure for HIV, which they say has worked in the laboratory.

The problem with curing HIV, has always been the issue with the HIV reservoir. This reservoir means that, even when antiretrovirals successfully inhibit the virus in the bloodstream , the moment people come off the medication , the virus gets released from the reservoir and infection persists.

The new technique developed, releases the HIV from the reservoirs in the DNA, bringing it to the surface of the cells, where the immune system can kill the virus through being boosted by a vaccine,

The scientists are very confident that they can successfully replicate the study in humans.

I think the headlines of an HIV cure are a bit premature , but nevertheless this is an interesting study and if proven to work in humans might be a gamechanger.
